A salon chatbot is AI software that answers your menu, prices and availability in chat and books the client in, with the patch test first when your salon needs one.
Most salon enquiries are short: how much is a balayage, can you fit me in Friday, is Ava in on Saturday. HiQBot answers them from your own service menu, offers a free time, and books the appointment with the stylist the client asked for. A beauty salon chatbot works the same way as a salon chatbot, whether you run a hair salon, a nail bar, a lash and brow studio or a beauty salon offering all of them, and it is part of HiQBot’s aesthetics and beauty agent, the same setup med spas and aesthetic clinics use.
HiQBot is a conversational platform for customer service, with AI agents and live chat on website chat, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram and LINE.
Customer service in a salon is mostly replying fast while your hands are busy with a client in the chair and another at the basin. The agent takes the routine questions on every channel at once, in the language each client writes in, and your team reads every conversation in one inbox when they have a minute.
Booking
A cut, a blow-dry, gel nails, lashes, brows or waxing has a set price and a set length, so the agent books it straight away at a time that is free. Two services can go back to back with different stylists, and a client who asks for Ava gets Ava. Returning clients are matched to their contact record in HiQBot when the booking saves.
When a client cannot make it, the agent finds the booking by the phone or email it was made with and moves or cancels it. If your policy charges for late changes, it says so before it makes the change, and waiving the fee is left to you.
Colour and lashes
Many salons ask for a patch test before colour, lash tints and some brow treatments, and turn away clients who arrive without one. When your policy asks for one, the agent books the patch test first, at least as far ahead as your policy says, and explains why in a sentence. In the example chat at the top of this page, Hannah gets her patch test on Tuesday and her balayage on Saturday in the same conversation.
If you take a deposit for colour or long appointments, the agent states the amount and the terms before it books. The deposit is paid however your salon collects it today.
Clients can send a photo of the look they want. The agent reads it, and it stays in the conversation where the stylist can see it. Whether a colour will work from where the client starts is the colourist’s call, so the agent books a consultation.
Groups
A wedding morning for five or a birthday group does not fit a menu price. The agent takes a quote request with the date, how many people, which services and any budget mentioned, and your team prices it and replies. If the services need patch tests, the request says so.

After the appointment
When a client writes in after a colour or a treatment and describes burning, blistering or swelling, the agent’s first reply sends them to your urgent number or to medical help, tells them to stop using any product they bought from you, and alerts your team. It adds no advice of its own.
A client unhappy with a cut or a colour is heard and the details are written up for you. A free redo or a refund is the salon’s decision, so the agent never offers one.
How live chat and handover workMany salon clients find you through your reels. Pick a post and a keyword, such as PRICE on a balayage reel or BOOK on a nail art post, and anyone who comments it gets a short public reply and a private DM with the price or the next free slot. The agent carries on the conversation knowing which post brought them in, and the lead records it.
You can also greet new DMs with a guided flow: the client taps the service they want, picks new or returning, and chooses a free time. Anything off script can go to the agent, and a client who wants a person goes to your front desk. See how Instagram comment automation works.
The same agent, menu and booking hours sit behind every channel, so a client gets the same answer on WhatsApp at night as on your website at lunchtime.
A booking can trigger a confirmation straight away and a reminder a set number of hours before the appointment, sent in the client’s chat or as a WhatsApp message. A patch test booked for Tuesday gets its own reminder, so the colour on Saturday goes ahead.
Bookings made overnight wait in your dashboard for the morning. The agent never promises a call back outside your opening hours.
Send an approved WhatsApp template to past clients: a midweek offer, a new lash technician, holiday opening hours. Choose the audience by tag, personalise it with each client’s name, and see who received, read and replied. Replies come back to the agent like any other message. HiQBot does not send marketing templates to US numbers.
Shampoo, treatments, styling products and skincare can be sold in the same chat. Upload your product list or link a Google Sheet, and the agent answers price and stock from it. Switch the list to take orders and a client can order for collection at their next appointment or for delivery, with the charges you set. Your team confirms each order in the dashboard. The agent describes products from your list and never claims one fixes a hair or skin condition.
Every booking lands in your HiQBot Bookings list with the service, the stylist and any notes, and on Google Calendar when it is connected, which also follows moves and cancellations made in the chat. Every client sits in the built-in CRM with their conversations, bookings and orders, so you do not need a separate beauty salon CRM to see who came in and when. Leads are marked cold, warm or hot with the reason. Analytics show your busiest channels and hours, and the questions the agent could not answer, so you know what to add to your menu notes.
The industry setup HiQBot uses for salons, med spas and clinics, so it asks about the service, new or returning, and timing.
Prices, which services need a patch test and how far ahead, your deposit and cancellation terms, and your opening hours.
Who does what and how long each service takes, so it offers times that are free.
Plus Messenger, Telegram and LINE if your clients use them, and Google Calendar so bookings appear on the salon calendar.
Pick the posts and the words that start a DM, such as PRICE on a balayage reel, and decide what the first message says.
Offer injectables, laser or skin treatments as well? Those usually start with a consultation, and the med spa and aesthetic clinic chatbot page shows how the agent handles them. For phone calls, see how a chat receptionist compares to a phone one.

A salon chatbot is AI software that answers your service menu, prices and opening hours in chat and books the client in. HiQBot books cuts, colour, nails, lashes and brows into your dashboard, puts a patch test first when your salon requires one, and states your deposit terms before it books.
It quotes only what your menu says. Where your list gives a starting price, such as colour from $120, it says "from" and books the consultation or appointment your salon uses to set the final price. Update the menu you uploaded and the answers change with it.
No. Bookings land in your HiQBot dashboard and, when you connect it, on Google Calendar, and a move or cancellation made in the chat updates both. If you run separate salon software, your team copies bookings across or works from HiQBot’s Bookings list.
Yes, both, plus website chat, Messenger, Telegram and LINE. A keyword comment on an Instagram post can start the conversation in the DMs, and every message from every channel lands in one inbox your front desk can read.
Yes. The agent reads photos clients send on any channel and they stay in the conversation, so your stylist sees exactly what was asked for. Whether a look will work on someone’s hair is the stylist’s call, so it books the consultation or appointment.
Yes. When your salon requires a patch test before a colour, lash tint or similar service, the agent books the patch test first and explains why in a sentence. The timing rule, such as 48 hours before, comes from the policy you upload.
It tells the client your deposit amount and terms before it books. It does not take payment in the chat; the deposit is paid the way your salon already collects it.
Yes. For each channel you choose what happens when the agent cannot help: it hands the chat to your team, who see everything said so far, or it takes the client’s details so someone can get back to them.
No. It works in chat only, on website chat, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Telegram and LINE. When a client would rather talk, it takes a callback request with a time and a topic for your team.
Yes, through WhatsApp broadcasts using templates Meta has approved, sent by default to clients who have messaged your salon before. HiQBot does not send marketing templates to US numbers; utility messages, such as a booking reminder, still go.
Upload your menu, connect Instagram, send it a real client question, and watch the booking land in your dashboard before you pay for anything.
